Honest Minutes Terms of Use
These Terms cover Honest Minutes, an iPhone and iPad writing app published by Alexandru Struta, an individual developer based in Romania (the “developer”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use the app. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
1. Your licence
Honest Minutes is free to download. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store rules. The app, its code and its design belong to the developer; you get a licence, not ownership. Please don't get around purchase checks, copy, resell or redistribute the app, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows.
2. Apple's Standard EULA
Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) applies to your licence of Honest Minutes from the App Store. These Terms add to it and do not replace it. Where the two differ, the Standard EULA wins for matters it covers. Apple is not responsible for supporting the app; we are.
3. Your writing
What you write is yours. It is stored only on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync, so deleting the app, losing your device or damaged data can lose your pages, and we cannot restore them. Keep your device backed up, and use Export (Pro) if you want a copy elsewhere.
4. The honest clock
Honest Minutes counts minutes only while you are typing, ignores pasted text and pauses for dictation. This makes padding your minutes hard, but not impossible, and we don't claim otherwise. Minutes, streaks and goals are a personal aid, not a certification of anything.
5. Honest Minutes Pro
Honest Minutes Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase (not a subscription). It unlocks a custom daily goal (1 to 180 minutes), Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and Markdown export. The editor, the honest clock, preset goals, streaks, history and the daily reminder are always free.
- The price is shown in your local currency before you buy, and that price applies. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- To get Pro back on a new or reset device, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Settings › Restore Purchases in the app.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue refunds; you can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds or revokes the purchase, Pro ends and a custom goal returns to the nearest preset.
6. Game Center
Game Center leaderboards and achievements are optional and provided by Apple under Apple's terms. Leaderboards show what the app measured on your device; we do not review or guarantee other players' scores.
7. Updates and availability
We may update the app to fix problems, improve it or change features. We try to keep it working well but cannot promise it will always be free of errors or available on every device or iOS version. Changes that affect something you paid for remain subject to consumer law.
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, the app is provided “as is”. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Romania. If you are a consumer living in the European Union or another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
